SAVE OUR GREEN BELT FROM MASS DEVELOPMENT

We oppose building on open countryside, farms, and green fields in North East Somerset & Hanham. We will:

Protect Open Spaces

Oppose Labour’s far-reaching development plans (such as the “grey belt” proposals and large new town projects)

Prioritise previously used Brownfield Sites for building

Scrap climate-related farming subsidies (that take productive land out of use for rewilding or solar farms)

Protect our countryside from large-scale renewable installations (like solar arrays and onshore wind projects)

STOP THE WAR ON DRIVERS

We will reverse regressive local transport policies in North East Somerset & Hanham, lower driving costs and safeguard your right to drive. We will:

Fix potholes and invest in better roads and road maintenance

Shift spending priorities away from urban cycle lanes

Scrap Clean Air Zones

Scrap the ban on sale of new petrol and diesel cars

Stop forcing manufacturers to sell electric vehicles

Remove LTNs and default 20mph Zones unless critical for safety.

Shift spending priorities away from alternative transport infrastructure

Slash fuel duty to reduce costs for motorists
