Our Branch is here to contest parliamentary general elections and by-elections, local council elections, West of England Combined Authority Mayor elections, Avon & Somerset Police & Crime Commissioner elections and some other local elections. We are always very busy, during local elections when we get out and about on the campaign trail with local Reform UK candidates.
We want to hear from potential candidates who would like to stand for Reform UK at local elections anywhere within the South Gloucestershire or Bath & North East Somerset council areas. Reform UK requires all our candidates to be of good standing and to adhere to a high standard of conduct and behaviour.
Reform UK North East Somerset & Hanham Branch, is active within the parliamentary constituency of North East Somerset & Hanham.
Our constituency takes in parts of Somerset and Gloucestershire and according to electoralcalculus.co.uk, an estimated 54% of voters in the constituency supported leaving the European Union in the 2016 referendum.
Our main role is to campaign for the election of a Reform UK MP to represent the people of the constituency.
At local level our Branch is active within all the wards of Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire councils within the constituency boundaries where we select local candidates and campaign for the election of Reform UK councillors to give a voice to people who live and work in the two council areas.
We believe residents of North East Somerset & Hanham are right to expect their two district councils to put the people who live here first.
For way too long, the same old parties have taken your votes for granted whilst our green fields disappear under concrete, council tax goes up every year, services get worse, roads deteriorate and local opinions go ignored.

We oppose building on open countryside, farms, and green fields in North East Somerset & Hanham. We will:
Protect Open Spaces
Oppose Labour’s far-reaching development plans(such as the “grey belt” proposals and large new town projects)
Prioritise previously used Brownfield Sites for building
Scrap climate-related farming subsidies(that take productive land out of use for rewilding or solar farms)
Protect our countryside from large-scale renewable installations(like solar arrays and onshore wind projects)
STOP THE WAR ON DRIVERS
We will reverse regressive local transport policies in North East Somerset & Hanham, lower driving costs and safeguard your right to drive. We will:
Fix potholes and invest in better roads and road maintenance
Shift spending priorities away from urban cycle lanes
Scrap Clean Air Zones
Scrap the ban on sale of new petrol and diesel cars
Stop forcing manufacturers to sell electric vehicles
Remove LTNs and default 20mph Zonesunless critical for safety.
